Champlain College

Located on beautiful Lake Champlain in upstate Vermont and an educational pioneer since 1878, Champlain is a college where students and faculty don't just respond to opportunities-they create them. Champlain is a true trend-setter with new fields of study like Computer Game Design, Computer & Digital Forensics, e-Business Management, and Digital Filmmaking.

Champlain College was moving beyond Vermont and getting the attention of students regionally and nationally. They needed a new website to better communicate their 130 years of tradition, as well as their leading edge, 21st century curriculum. Ingeniux and award-winning design firm Zehno Cross Media Communications teamed up to provide the solution. To speed deployment and reduce costs and staff requirements, Champlain College chose Ingeniux OnDemand, our hosted CMS solution. The combination of the Ingeniux professional services technology team with world-class designers from Zehno produced a website as functional and beautiful as Champlain College.

What We Did:

• Search engine optimization of all web pages using standard schema structures ensures high index rankings
• Implementation of Ingeniux Authentication module for single-sign-on (SSO) of campus uses. Content can be posted for "Champlain users only" and protected from viewing by the public at large
• Management of Flash content within the CMS. Flash presentations are kept fresh and up-to-date by simply changing content inside the CMS, eliminating costly retooling of the Flash and ongoing design fees
• Categorization of content using Ingeniux Taxonomy so that content is re-used throughout the site based on its category and contextual relationship to the subject matter of the web page
• Automatic generation of faculty and staff profile pages from Outlook, using the Ingeniux Automatic Task module to import and convert a CSV data file from Outlook into individual faculty and staff pags.
• Emergency notification system that displays emergency alerts on the home page and allows off-site management of alerts in case of a campus IT outage.
• Google Mini search integration
