Survey Reveals Mobile Landscape for Higher Education
June 2, 2011

Seattle, WA - Ingeniux Corporation, a leading provider of web and social content management software for PC, tablet, and mobile devices, today announced the results from the recent Mobile Web and Application Trends customer survey. Over 80 .EDU web managers completed the survey to provide insight into the state of mobile publishing in higher education.
The survey revealed that mobile is one of the most important initiatives for higher education this year. Over 80 percent of respondents see mobile as critical or important to their organization's web strategy. And over 75 percent of respondents plan to start a mobile project within the next six months.
According to the survey, news, events, and campus directories are the most important features for higher education mobile websites, outpacing social media, location-based services, and personalization. Over 80 percent of respondents ranked news and events as the most important features of a mobile site, while student and faculty directories took a close third with over 77 percent of respondents ranking the feature as important.
"Content is the foundation of a website, whether accessed on a mobile, tablet, or PC devise," said Jim Edmunds, Ingeniux president and CEO. "With mobile the key is making content accessible and discoverable while leveraging your web content investment."
